Curriculum by Subject

At Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, every subject makes an important contribution to children’s learning and development. Our broad curriculum gives children opportunities to discover their interests, develop their talents and build an understanding of the world around them.

Each subject has its own knowledge, skills and vocabulary. Our planning sets out how these develop as children move through school, building on previous learning and preparing them for what comes next. We make connections between subjects where these help children deepen and apply their understanding.

Our Catholic faith shapes our curriculum, encouraging children to consider how their learning can help them care for others, act responsibly and contribute to their communities. We maintain high expectations for all pupils, adapting teaching and support so that children can participate and make progress across subjects.
