We will be taking part in a wonderful initiative to provide all school with access to free breakfast bagels each day!
We know that a good breakfast helps children to engage in their learning. We also know that morning routines can sometimes be disrupted by family events. Therefore, we want to offer you the option of sending your child into school at 8:40am to receive a breakfast bagel each day after the Christmas break!
In order to make this possible, we will be making changes to the way children enter school in the morning. From 10th January 2022, they will be asked to come in at 8:40am to receive their free Breakfast Bagel. Where there is disruption to the delivery of bagels, we will provide toast for the children. They will then have 15 minutes to settle in and eat before lessons begin at 8:55am. Unfortunately, due to registration and the beginning of lessons, bagels cannot be given out after this time. So please arrive on time for breakfast as we don’t want anyone who would like a bagel to miss out!
Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2 should continue to access their classrooms directly from the playground. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will no longer be required to line up on the playground. They will now need to walk around to the small playground and go straight to class from the open doors. Years 3 and 4 should enter through the door to the hall and Years 5 and 6 should enter through the door by their stairwell. If your child attends Breakfast Club, they should do so in the usual way. Your children will also receive the option of a free breakfast bagel each day.
We hope this will also address some parent concerns from our recent questionnaire, where it was felt large gatherings of parents can obscure safe view of the children coming into school. Please complete the Breakfast Bagel questionnaire to confirm allergies as soon as possible. We will not be able to give bagels to any child with missing allergy information. We look forward to enjoying breakfast together after Christmas!
