Curriculum and Teaching
Curriculum at Our Lady’s
Growing in faith. Learning for life.
“Follow your dreams using the guiding light of Jesus.”
With Christ at the centre of learning, we help every child
discover their God-given talents, grow in faith and character,
and pursue their ambitions with confidence.
Our curriculum
Our broad, ambitious curriculum builds knowledge, skills and
vocabulary from year to year. We have high expectations for
all pupils, including children with special educational needs
and disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
How we help children learn
Supporting every child
Teachers adapt learning and provide support where needed,
helping children overcome difficulties, build confidence
and develop independence.
Strong foundations
Communication, language, reading, writing and mathematics
give children the foundations to learn successfully
across the curriculum.
Teaching that helps learning stick
Children revisit ideas, discuss their thinking and practise
skills. Teachers check understanding, address misconceptions
and use feedback to guide next steps.
Faith at the heart of learning
The Catholic Pupil Profile and Catholic Social Teaching
help children recognise human dignity, care for creation
and serve others, while respecting different faiths
and beliefs.
