At the end of each topic, the children are asked to complete a set of challenges to summarise their learning. During this half term's topic, we have been learning to develop a love of stories and reading. It  has encouraged the children to learn, retell and act out familiar and traditional tales including Cinderella, Goldilocks, The Three Little Pigs, The Princess and the Pea, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

Literacy Task:

One of the activities in the 'Innovate Challenge' booklet (see Topic work) asks the children to draw a picture of a story character.  Using the picture your child has drawn, ask them to describe their character and encourage the use of adjectives (describing words). For example, 'My character has a blue dress' or "My character has long, brown hair".  Have a go at writing these sentences.
