  • SCHOOL CLOSURE

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    Dear Parents,

Following tonight's announcement, school will be closed from tomorrow.

Pupils with parents who are key workers will be able to attend school.

For tomorrow, we will use the allocated places made available in March 2020 to May 2020 only. Children who joined us in school in June 2020 due to Reception and Y1 classes returning to school will not be included in the initial allocations.

Children should arrive in the usual way through St. Gile's entrance at their current staggered time and be collected in the same way until further notice.

If your child is in Reception class, we do not currently hold information about your key worker status. If your child is in Reception class and you are a key worker, your child may come to school tomorrow.

I sincerely apologise for the late notice. However, we will do everything possible to communicate changes for this week. Detailed confirmation regarding places and arrangements will be sent to all parents tomorrow.

If your child is remaining at home, they are to complete work available on our school website. Class teachers will be in contact shortly to arrange live online lessons for classes.

    Best wishes, stay safe

    Miss McDonald

    Dear Parents

Our Christmas photos have now arrived. Due to the current pandemic level we are unable to allow you to view the photos in school. Please see the attached photo as an example for Rec to Y4.  Y5 and Y6 have a multicoloured background rather than a Christmas Tree. If you would like to purchase your child's photo, please pay £1 by Monday 14th December at the latest.

Please send the money in, in an envelope with your child's name and class.

All photos will be sent home on Tuesday 15th December.

    Thank you

  • Second Half Term!

    Thu 12 Nov 2020

    Dear Parents

The second half term of the academic year 2020-2021 is well underway!

I would like to thank you all for your support and co-operation during the last few challenging months as pupils have been returning to school.

We have followed updated government guidelines regarding the present national lockdown. We completed an extensive risk assessment review in line with Local Authority requirements and this November review can be found below.

OL November Risk Assessment Review A

It is important to note, children will not be able to maintain social distancing in class. Measures have been taken to reduce contact as much as possible, but consistent distancing is not possible due to classroom size and numbers of children. Other measures advised by the Government and Local Authority have been combined with reduced contact to provide reduced risk.

We will continually review our procedures, risk assessment and practise during this time to ensure the health and safety of our school community. We have reviewed requests received from the parent community regarding measures too. In line with this, we are reminding parents about social distancing requirements and requesting where possible adults wear masks when entering the school site.

May I take this opportunity to remind you of the following:

    • Only arrive at school within your scheduled time slot (these will be reviewed over the next few days)
    • Remain socially distanced while waiting for your child to enter school (1m marker lines have been extended along the pathway at St. Giles Road in both directions to assist you in keeping to distancing requirements)
    • Once your child has entered school, immediately leave the area to provide effective social distancing for everyone - DO NOT gather or wait around to talk to other parents
    • If your child wears a mask to arrive at school, you must provide them with a plastic zip lock bag to store it in throughout the day

If your child is entitled to a Free School Meal and your child is self-isolating, school can provide a lunch pack for the time absent from school. If you would like to make use of this service, please contact the school office who will be happy to arrange this for you. Please note, this does not apply to Universal Infant Free School Meals.

We will provide you with updated information regarding any Local Authority or government meal vouchers as soon as it is received.

If you have any queries, concerns or need further advice please contact the school office 0121 464 4459.

    Best wishes,

    Miss McDonald

  • Aspire Sports at Our Lady's

    Tue 20 Oct 2020

At Our Lady's we have been working with Aspire Sports to ensure pupils receive active PE lessons. It is more important than ever for children to be active when there are limited options for out of school activities. Please take a look at the clip from Aspire Sports regarding outdoor PE sessions during the Autumn Term.
