Year 4 Design Torches

For our DT project last term, Year 4 decided to make torches to tie in with our Science topic of 'Circuits and Conductors'.
First we planned and designed our torches, deciding what materials we would need and how we would make them light up. After this we made electrical circuits and fitted them into drinks bottles to make the casing. We lined the bottles with tin foil to make a reflector for the bulb.
Then came the fun part -; decorating them! For this we used insulating tape and stickers. It wasn't an easy job, but we all worked together, sharing equipment and helping each other.
We think you'll agree, they looked pretty fantastic and they certainly brightened up Miss Johnson's day.
