22 June 2007
On Friday 22nd June Year 6 attended the Rosary Rally. It was held at The Rosary Church and the Rosary Primary School.
Although the weather prevented us from taking part in activities on St Peter's field, it didn't spoil what turned out to be an enjoyable afternoon.
Following a tour of the church, the children took part in a quiz. If they had listened carefully, the guide had given them most of the answers during the tour of the church.
This is the Foundation Stone of the Rosary Church. It came from the shrine of the Annunciation Nazareth. It was laid on the feast of the Annunciation April 4th 1932. Can you see who it was laid by?
Here you can see us looking at the church organ. We discovered that a German bomb damaged the organ in 1941.
We completed the quiz and had time to have our photograph taken in front of the magnificent Sacred Heart Altar before going to the Parish Centre where we made rosary beads, badges and key rings. |

The painting behind the statue of Our Lady is a map of the world. If you look closely you can see a gold cross. The cross is pointing to places of pilgrimage in Knock, Walsingham and Carfin. |
