This week's R.E. is all about Pentecost.

Pentecost is the festival when Christians celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is celebrated on the Sunday 50 days after Easter.

Pentecost is regarded as the birthday of the Christian church, and the start of the church's mission to the world.

 

Read the story of Pentecost together and discuss:

- how were the disciples feeling at the beginning of the story? 

- how did the disciples feel when the Holy Spirit came down on them?

- how would you have felt? Would you have been shocked/scared/amazed/grateful?

- what did the disciples do afterwards?

 

Ask your child to re-tell the story as if they were one of the disciples.
