Set 1, 2 and 3 Speed Sounds lessons will continue.
Set 2 and 3 Speed Sounds lessons will include new words for reading and spelling.

Daily films:

  • Read longer words: for children who can read Set 3 sounds and words confidently. 
  • Read Red Words 1: for children who are reading Red, Green, Purple, Pink and Orange Read Write Inc. Storybooks. Many children are able to read these in Reception.
  • Read Red Words 2: for children who are reading Yellow, Blue and Grey Read Write Inc. Storybooks. Many children are able to read these in Y1.

Lesson 1

Lesson Objective:  To listen to a story.

In today's lesson, we will be listening to the story of The Tiger who came to Tea. We will then be answering questions on this. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil.

Lesson Objective:  To commit a story to memory

Today we will be drawing our story map to help us remember the story of The Tiger who came to Tea. You will need a piece of paper (plain if you have one) and a pencil.

Lesson 3

Lesson Objective:  To understand how to identify and write questions

Today we are going to be learning all about questions. We will be identifying question and then practising writing them ourselves. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil.

Lesson 4

Lesson Objective: To start to write our story

Today we will be writing the beginning of the story of The Tiger who came to Tea. You will need your story map nearby to help you remember the story and a new piece of lined paper and a pencil.

Lesson 5

Lesson Objective: To write the end of our story

It is time for us to finish our stories and have a go at editing our work. You will need the writing you started yesterday, a pencil, your story map and, if you have one, another coloured pen for editing.
