PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OUR LADY AND ALL SAINTS MAC LAUNCHES

Resilience, dedication, and faith provided by 13 local schools, at a time of global crisis, is now a national success story!

As we are now in Holy Week it seems all but natural for the formation of a new Multi-Academy Trust, Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company (“the MAC”), to take place officially     on     Holy     Thursday,     1     April     2021     as     part     of     the   Archdiocese of Birmingham Education Strategy Programme following approval from the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson.

The MAC officially welcomes over 700 staff and 4,500 children and young people across the Birmingham, Solihull, and Warwickshire areas with their ‘flagship schools’ including Guardian Angels Catholic Primary School, Our Lady of Compassion Catholic Primary School, Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Primary School, Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, St Andrew's Catholic School, St Anne's Catholic Primary School, St Anthony's Catholic Primary School, St Augustine's Catholic Primary School, St Edwards Catholic Primary School, St George and St Teresa Catholic Primary School, St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School, St Peter's Catholic Secondary School and St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School.

It is quite remarkable that a team of 13 schools have been relentless in their drive to ensure that the formation of the MAC takes place on-time during a period of global crisis. The resilience of all involved is a credit to their MAC Motto – “Strong in Faith”.

Peter Davis, Catholic Senior Executive Leader of the MAC said: The drive for our children and young people to succeed, and the passion of our teachers to make a difference, makes me honoured to be Catholic Senior Executive Leader in Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company. With 93% of our schools already being ‘Good or Outstanding’, we have even higher expectations within our family of schools that each provide a fully inclusive and comprehensive Catholic Education offering in a diverse society. We are dedicated to developing all our children into successful, ambitious, and compassionate future leaders by securing the absolute best outcomes for all both in terms of their qualifications, as well as providing wider opportunities for them to develop as rounded and confident young people.

A sense of community will be at the forefront of all that we do to ensure our children, our families and our parishes and communities can flourish. We are proud to serve our communities that include the full range of social demographics, each having their own challenges and unique opportunities. Christ is at the centre of all we do.

We all know that this is a challenging time for all schools not just locally but globally, and by working together as a school community collectively we can continue to support and keep each other safe”.

Paul Gray, Chair of the Board of Directors, said: “As a family of 13 schools we have been working towards becoming the Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company for the last five years. We have a strong and highly skilled Board of Directors working with our excellent Headteachers and Local Governing Bodies whereby it is expected that we will further

grow through active partnership building and supporting other Catholic secondary and primary schools in the region. Thank you to all our schools for their impressive support to enable this legal milestone to be successfully achieved as well to the Birmingham Diocesan Education Service for their guidance and backing along this journey too”.
