    From Birmingham with Love

The challenges of COVID-19 and the lockdown have led to some really tough times for fa

milies this year.  The From Birmingham with Love campaign is available to help: www.birmingham.gov.uk/love

Cllr Kate Booth, Cabinet Member for Children’s Wellbeing at Birmingham City Council, said: “We know that a lot of people have faced some especially challenging times due to the pandemic.  But there is help is out there so we urge parents to pick up the phone, click on a link or send an email to access the things that will really make a difference to them and their families.

Here is the full list of the most used services and support available now, which might make life a bit easier for many:

  • Welcome Back!

    Wed 02 Sep 2020

    Dear Parents

Welcome back to Our Lady's Catholic Primary School for the start of the 2020-2021 academic year!

I would like to thank you all for your support and co-operation during the last few challenging months as pupils have been returning to school.

We have followed updated government guidelines in planning for re-opening this week. We completed an extensive risk assessment in line with Local Authority requirements and this can be found on our September Opening Page.

We will continually review our procedures, risk assessment and practise during this time to ensure the health and safety of our school community.

May I take this opportunity to remind you of the following:

    • Only arrive at school within your scheduled time slot (these will be reviewed over the next few days)
    • Remain socially distanced while waiting for your child to enter school (1m marker lines will be extended along the pathway at St. Giles Road in both directions to assist you in keeping to distancing requirements)
    • Once your child has entered school, immediately leave the area to provide effective social distancing for everyone - DO NOT gather or wait around to talk to other parents
    • If your child wears a mask to arrive at school, you must provide them with a plastic zip lock bag to store it in throughout the day

It is important to note, children will not be able to maintain social distancing in class. Measures have been taken to reduce contact but consistent distancing is not possible due to classroom size and numbers of children. Other measures advised by the Government and Local Authority have been combined with reduced contact to provide reduced risk.

We look forward to welcoming our new Reception Class to Stay and Play sessions this week and to beginning half day session next week beginning 7th September. You will now have received information about this. If you have not received your email or need further advice please contact the school office 0121 464 4459.

    Best wishes,

    Miss McDonald
