  Yesterday year 6 had a fabulous day in London. We saw all the famous London sights including Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch, Elizabeth Tower, River Thames and, of course, the Houses of Parliament.

  Our tour around the Houses of Parliament was fabulous. We got to go into the chambers of both houses, see where the prime minister stands to debate and the robing room where the Queen gets ready to open Parliament every year!

  A great day was had by all

• A Day In Politics

  Year 6 have been preparing for their visit to London next week by creating their own political parties. They all created a manifesto, created marketing material and presented their ideas to the rest of the class. Democracy then reigned supreme as the children voted on whose political campaig they thought was the best. The winning team was the Pouncing Politicians but, as with any election, it was very close! Well done to all the children who took part so enthusiastically and looked so smart in their ‘business’ outfits.
